Wollega University students' union emerged as an independent entity with the aspiration of building unified and well bounded student's community capable of acting together to ensure lasting peace, making endeavor for respect of students' fundamental freedoms and rights.
For the achievements of such a lofty aspiration in holistic manner, the union has devoted itself by adopting and endorsing various mechanisms. It has been accomplishing its cardinal and miscellaneous tasks with the aim of ensuring students' dignified existence, abolishing xenophobic sprit among students and developing the sprit of brotherhood and fraternity enabling the students to make tremendous strides to achieve economic and social changes, developmental leadership and the hard work for the people.
It is inevitable to take glance on this year election, which was the most remarkable phenomenon and unforgettable scenario on this election, which was the most remarkable phenomenon and unforgettable scenario on which students, including the then union's staff members, actively participated and simultaneously manifested their vigorous contribution for the nurturing of culture of democracy in the country.
Aftermath of the election, the newly elected chief leaders with the collaboration of staff members launched their manifesto and basic postulate. At first juncture, the executive leaders' tasks were learning a lesson from the past leaders and hereby work on the strengths and noble experiences to ensure the viability of the union.
Albeit, it has faced bundle of lingering problems of which loosen bargaining power takes a loin's share on its endeavor for the achievement of its objectives in holistic manner, the union has won its first and most success.
