Wollega University paves a path to early success in graduate studies by opening various programs in different modality and options. Holding up the banner "Excellence and Innovation in graduate studies" we are running the postgraduate program through Career Integrated Program (CIP) at the weekend and summer (Kiremt) programs in various fields. Just to mention the programs: Business Administration, Public administration, Animal Science, Plant Breeding, Plant Protection, Agriculture Economics, Oromo Language and Literature and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. This course consists of concepts and case studies relevant to their field of study.
The University was started post graduate programs in the 2010/11(2003 EC) academic year and committed to provide high quality education with flexible learning programs .The curriculum combines latest academic knowledge with international competencies.

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Applicants for admission to Post Graduate Programs should hold a bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a any discipline from recognized higher learning institutions for MBA and MPA programs.
2. For other Post Graduate programs applicant must hold a bachelor degree in concerned area
3. Applicants must pass written and oral entrance exams and fully satisfy the academic rules and regulation of the Wollega University.

TEACHING AND LEARNING METHODS

Wollega University is increasingly adopting a student-centered and practical oriented approach that supports and encourages student learning and participation. Practical oriented and hands on training are given immense consideration in producing post graduates with the desired knowledge, skill and attitude to be employed in their field of study.
All Post-Graduate Programs uses a variety of teaching methods to help students to develop the skills, this can include class room lectures, group discussions, field visits, project assignments/term papers, seminar/presentations, self-study etc. Depending upon the nature of the subject, some courses will use industry and field tours supplemented with videos to help students gain practical knowledge. As instructors develop familiarity and confidence in new university teaching methodologies, the classrooms of the post graduate programs will become increasingly interactive. Most teaching takes the form of structured lectures and case discussions, sometimes in conjunction with tutorials or workshops.

RESOURCES

Wollega University has competent academic staff in all the areas of post graduate programs with academic and practical. In addition, to complement existing human resources, the University will aggressively recruit qualified academic staff in the coming years.
The University has two common libraries that are used by all departments. These libraries are furnished with internet facility. Large number of books so far acquired for department for the under graduate programme students will be used. In addition, for the post graduate programme, the university is planning to set new library with all relevant books and Journals with internet facilities.
